Overview

My Garage is designed with privacy in mind. All your vehicle data — fuel logs, service history, parts, and odometer readings — is stored locally on your device. We do not operate our own servers and do not upload your vehicle data anywhere.

Data We Store on Your Device

All of the following data is stored locally on your device in an SQLite database. It is never uploaded to any server.

Vehicle profiles: Name, make, model, year, fuel type, colour, and current odometer reading
Fuel logs: Date, odometer reading, litres filled, cost, and price per litre
Service logs: Date, odometer reading, service category, cost, and notes
Parts & maintenance: Part name, replacement intervals, and last-replaced date / odometer
Settings: Your name (optional), currency, distance unit, fuel unit, and theme preference

No account creation or sign-in is required. No cloud sync is used.

Third-Party Services

Google AdMob

We display ads through Google AdMob to support free access to the app. AdMob may collect certain device and usage data as described in Google's Privacy Policy. This may include:

Device identifiers (advertising ID)
IP address
General location (derived from IP)
App usage data related to ad interactions

You can opt out of personalised ads through your device settings: Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalisation. Upgrading to the ad-free plan removes all ads entirely.

Google Play Billing

The app offers in-app purchases through Google Play Billing to remove ads and unlock premium features. Purchase transactions are handled entirely by Google Play. We do not collect or store any payment information.

Firebase Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics to understand how people use the app so we can improve it. This service collects anonymous usage data including:

Screens visited and navigation patterns
Feature usage (e.g. which features are used most, button taps)
App events (e.g. vehicles added, logs created — counts only, no vehicle names or amounts)
Device information (model, OS version, screen size)
General location (country/region derived from IP address)
App version and session duration

This data is anonymous — it is not linked to any personal identifier and does not include your vehicle details or log amounts. Analytics data is processed by Google under their Privacy Policy.

Firebase Crashlytics

We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous crash reports to improve app stability. Reports may include device model, OS version, and stack traces. No vehicle data or personal information is included in crash reports.

Data We Do NOT Collect

Personal identifiers (name, email, phone number)
Precise location (GPS)
Contacts, call logs, or SMS
Vehicle details, fuel costs, or service records sent to any external server
Camera or microphone access

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share any of your data with third parties. The only third-party data collection is by Google AdMob as described above, which can be eliminated by upgrading to the ad-free plan.

Data Retention & Deletion

All data is stored locally on your device. You have full control:

Delete individual logs or vehicles within the app
Export your data as a JSON backup from Settings
Clear all data by clearing the app's storage in your device settings
Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all associated data

We retain no data on any server.

Children's Privacy

This app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
